One of my all time favorite Swarovski colors is Padparashca, after those wonderful pink/orange sapphires. As part of a lesson I give my students, I make them mix shapes and finishes - so a bit of sparkle, a bit of shine and so on.
I followed my own example and dug out my Padparascha crystals and came up with this little cutie:
Isn't that color just juicily delicious? I love the stardust silver combined with crystal - it doesn't compete, it allows the crystal to be the star without being boring. And that lovely silver rose clasp is the perfect finish. My next project is silver roses interspersed with pink/mauve pearls. Yum!
I haven't had a chance to bead lately, and I've been having withdrawal symptoms! Yesterday in town, I went to Michaels and picked up some glass beads, just to have something new to work with. This should dress up a plain white blouse, don't you think?
Now I hear tell that Biaggi, Pandora and Chamilia charm bracelets are all the rage in Europe, though they're just beginning to show their faces here in Canada. I craved one, but NO WAY was I going to spend all that money - my tastes change too frequently for me to invest big bucks, unless it's a diamond. So I found a look alike bracelet and bought 2 dozen "Murano" style glass beads for it. I love the result, and it cost me less than $35!! Plus the variety of beads mean I change change it at will.
