I often remind the ladies who attend my classes that they can do more than just string beads on thread or wire, as varied and enjoyable as that is. I like to get them thinking about other ways of making jewelry, like using connectors and links and such in different ways.
Here are a couple of things made by thinking outside the bead:
These are 3 to 1 connectors - I simply set them in two rows, facing in opposite directions and joined them with these terrific little double loops I got in West Edmonton Mall - these things are terrific!
The finished result:
Then I used these same "figure 3" links to attach a series of silver and gold rose shaped clasps. The beauty of this one is you can open it at any point in the bracelet!
I had a spool of silver and gold plated heavy chain with a slightly rough surface. Too 7o's for my taste, but as an experiment, I combined 3 of them with a clamp end and I rather like the result.
So, folks - think outside the bead - you might be surprised at what you come up with......
